Why aren’t there single-day or two-day passes?
Beltania is designed to be experienced as a multi-day retreat. Being there together over several days helps to create a sense of community and build connections, which is something Beltania is known for. Having lots of cars driving around all the time, with people coming and going, gives more of a spectator feel than what we are trying to achieve. We are a spiritual retreat, and having people stopping by for just a day or two to “check us out” doesn’t really fit with the spiritual retreat concept.
It’s also a logistical issue; as a volunteer-run organization, we simply don’t have the staff or resources to handle the paperwork and accounting issues that come with different types of passes for different days. If we were to have day passes or two day passes, we’d need another 10 volunteers willing to give up their festival experience to staff the gate, attend parking lots, and security to enforce ticket expiration times all day every day. We tried doing that for two years, and for the amount of effort, organizational energy, and time on the part of our unpaid volunteers we didn’t have enough people buying tickets to even make it worth the expense.
Lastly, in last year’s guest satisfaction survey, over 90% of respondents said they preferred to come for the entire festival. However – if you think this is really important offer 1 and 2 day passes, please assemble and train a team of 10 people willing to work 8 hours per day for free every day of the retreat and find at least 25 paying guests who will buy those tickets (which wouldn’t cost much less than a 3 or 4 day pass because we still have to pay for 4 days of lodging) and we’ll consider it!
That being said, anyone with an admission pass can stay as long or short a time as they wish. If you’re running late or need to miss the first day or two of the event, call 303-478-8814 to arrange a late check-in.
