A Workshop with internationally known author, priestess and teacher Jhenah Telyndru.
The Bards and Druids of the ancient Celts sought the blessings of the Awen, or Divine Inspiration, to illuminate their art, and expand their spiritual sight in service to the Gods and their people. In reclaiming these paths to the Awen today, we look to ancient tools and modern techniques to activate this transformational energy in our lives. This workshop will discuss the lore and symbolism of the Awen, and will present several techniques which lay a foundation for the seeker to directly tap into the Source of Awen and obtain firsthand experience of its soul-changing power.
About Jhenah: www.jhenahtelyndru.com
Jhenah Telyndru has always felt called to dance with joy in that liminal space which
straddles the realms of history and myth, of individuality and collectivity, of the seen and
the unseen. A creative mystic who loves science and values fact, Jhenah embraces the
conscious co-creation of the future, while immersing herself in an impassioned study of
the past. The path between, she believes, is where the mysteries are revealed and where
true magic happens.
In 1995, Jhenah founded the Sisterhood of Avalon, a non-profit Celtic Women’s Spirituality organization, and serves as Academic Dean and lead instructor of the Avalonian Thealogical Seminary. She teaches Avalonian Intensive Workshops around North America and the UK, and has facilitated pilgrimages to sacred sites in the British Isles since 2000. A priestess in the Avalonian Tradition, Jhenah has been dedicated to Goddess Spirituality for over 30 years.
She is the author of Avalon Within: A Sacred Journey of Myth, Mystery, and Inner Wisdom (Llewellyn, 2010), which is used by Women’s Spirituality groups and solitary
practitioners world-wide. A professional tarot counsellor for over 20 years, Jhenah is
the creator of The Avalonian Oracle: Spiritual Wisdom from the Holy Isle (Schiffer, 2016)
oracle deck and book, gorgeously illustrated by Emily Brunner. She is the originator of
a unique system of trance journey postures keyed into the alchemical landscape
energies of ancient Avalon; this tool for inner pilgrimage can be experienced on the
beautiful instructional DVD Trancing the Inner Landscape: Avalonian Landscape Postures.
She has also produced a spoken word album of guided meditations entitled Journeys to
Avalon: Immrama to the Holy Isle. Jhenah’s writing has been featured in periodicals
including PanGaia, SageWoman, The Beltane Papers, Circle Magazine, and The Tor Stone:
Quarterly Journal of Women’s Mysteries magazines, several Llewellyn annuals, and both
fiction and non-fiction anthologies.
Jhenah is a frequent presenter and guest speaker at Women’s Spirituality gatherings,
academic conferences, symposia, and Pagan festivals around North America,
including: The Association for the Study of Women in Mythology (ASWM)
Conference, PantheaCon, Paganicon, The Southeast Wise Women Herbal Conference,
Womongathering, AvaCon, Ninefold Festival, CWPN’s Harvest Gathering, SPARKS
Symposium, the Morrigan’s Call Retreat, and New York Pagan Pride. Jhenah serves her local community as coordinator of the Ithaca World Goddess Day Celebration, co-
founder of Ithaca Red Tent, and facilitator of Tarot Salon Ithaca.
Jhenah holds a master’s degree in Celtic Studies from the University of Wales, Trinity
Saint David, a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology and Social Science, and has
conducted professional study in Chiropractic, Network Spinal Analysis, as well as
herbal medicine. In addition to her traditional studies, Jhenah has immersed herself in
hermetic science, qabalistic philosophy, transpersonal astrology, archetypal tarot, and
depth psychology in an ongoing quest to further her understanding of the Universe as
it manifests within and without. She facilitates rites of passage, builds labyrinths,
weaves community, makes music, is in service as a healer, and honors the sacred
landscape both around and within us.
